Effect of Visual Perception Training Using ICT Technology on Visual Perception and Cognitive Function of the Elderly with Dementia and Mild Cognitive Impairment

Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect on visual perception and cognitive func tion through the development and application of visual perception training tools using ICT tech nology for the elderly with dementia and mild cognitive impairment.

Methods: In this study, 24 people with dementia or mild cognitive impairment visited the D Day Care Center and H Senior Welfare Center in Daegu were randomly selected as experimental groups and control groups, followed by ICT visual training three times a week for 30 minutes. After intervention, changes in visual perception and cognitive function were compared throughMVPT-3 and LOTCA.

Results: After intervention, there was a significant change in the experimental group and the control group in the visual perception function, and only the experimental group showed significant re sults in the cognitive function.

Conclusion: It has been confirmed that visual perception training using ICT technology is effective in visual perception and cognitive functions of patients with mild cognitive impairment and dementia, and it can be an intervention method that can be newly used to improve visual perception and cogni tive functions.
